Anne Frahm
  Author Details
The author of CREW'S MANUAL FOR SMALL BOAT RACING has sailed all her life. As a child, she fought the current on the Thames in an 8 ft. dinghy and learned about heavy weather in Dorset on the south coast of England. Later it was a 14 ft. catboat in Frenchman's Bay, Maine.

Her serious racing began when she moved to Detroit in 1945 and in recent years in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most of her racing has been in Snipes. She cFaims to have skippered only once in her life and prefers to take genuine pride in crewmanship. "The crew can be the most important person in the boat in light air."

Beside raising a family of six, Mrs. Frahm is founder and publisher of The Almanac, a successful suburban weekly in Grand Rapids. The family fleet includes an X class dinghy and a Sunfish.
