Paxton lives in Connecticut. He holds a degree in American History and is a member of the Western Writers of America and the Wordcraft Circle of Native Writers & Storytellers (a national organization focused on supporting emerging Native American writers). His first novel, Lost River, published by Berkley Publishing (Penguin/Putnam) in the spring of 1999 was a Western Writers of America double Spur Award finalist.
