Diary

This diary was found at a garage sale in May 2001 in Montgomery County, MD. The author has made many notations about her every day life over this 5 year span which covers 1940 - 1945. From these pages we know that she was born on January 6 in 1911 and received the diary from 'Steve' on her 29th birthday (1940). She married Luster Adams (born Feb 12) on Sep 14th, 1927, and they had a least three children, Sally (born Aug 10), Steve (b. June 5) and Charles (Chuck) Robert Adams (born on Feb 1). She enjoyed going to the movies (did not like "Gone with the Wind") and playing bridge with friends. She voted for Roosevelt in 1940 election. Luster liked to play poker and he started working at Ft. Leonard Wood on Feb 15, 1941. . They moved into a new home on 1616 Hinkson on Aug 29th, 1941. They may have lived in Columbia, MO. A search of Rootsweb SSDI shows Luster Adams was born 12-Feb-1906 and died 29-Aug-1995. His last residence was Chula Vista, San Diego, CA. His mother's maiden name is NELSON and he was born in Illinois.
